Fossil fuels continue to be the main source of energy for air conditioning in buildings in Spain. Under the new Energy Efficiency Directive, municipalities with more than 45,000 inhabitants will be required to prepare a specific energy plan to address heating and cooling supply, in order to meet decarbonisation targets.

In this webinar, an example of a methodology and tool to address this energy planning will be presented, along with an example of its application in the city of Bilbao. Practical examples of district network solutions, a key part of the transition to renewable heating and cooling supply, will also be presented by key players in the sector.
